]]>In most cases the plants you are so impressed with are nothing really that unique or special. The professional plant installations are the result of carefully selected plant material and containers based on growing conditions installed with a few fundamental principles applied.
Down in front!
Keep taller material to the back or perimeter of the area and the smaller material up front, This will give the scaled, balanced look of a professional interior plant installation.
Threes company!
Similar plants grouped together and arranged by keeping the tall material to the rear of the setting and smaller or lower material placed around and in front of the larger specimens allow’s each plant to show its best without blocking the ones behind it. Here is where the container selection is important and should be scaled accordingly with a large enough capacity to accommodate the various plants in their growing containers.
Grow pots go inside!
Nothing says amateur plant installation like plants on display in the plastic grow pots!. Always keep the grow pot inside of a decorative container and use a catch liner so water does not spill out or collect at the bottom of the planter. It’s also a good idea to add some fresh soil to the grow pot to replace any that may have been lost during the shipping process.
Hold them tight and top it off!
When using decorative containers, I recommend some soft foam pieces to hold the grow pots of plants in place inside the decorative container. Then top off the planter with any type of decorative material you like. Most commonly used is Mood Moss, Sphagnum Moss, Bark chips and various types small pebbles or stones. When using stones, be sure you have filled around the grow pots well so the stones don’t slip down into the planter. Decorative topping covering the plants growing containers is probably the single most important step one can take to get the professional plant installation look we are after.
Feed when you water!
Even the best plant installation is only as good as a person’s ability to take care of the foliage once it has been installed. The two most common mistakes we make when caring for interior plants are Over Watering and incorrect feeding. Always check the soil moisture with your finger or moister meter BEFORE you water!. If the top of the soil is wet, you can be sure the bottom of the plant is even wetter. You will often be surprised how long it takes before a plant really does need watering. (More on that subject to come)
Correct nutrition is key to professional results!
Finally, remember to use a mild and balanced plant food to ensure proper nutrition without burning. We of course recommend the AquaVor Brand plant foods as they are designed to be used with every watering and contain no harmful Urea Nitrigen, these formulas’s will never burn delicate plants the way the leading High Urea content brands will. Our Easy Feeding Can takes all the guess work out of the feeding process so you can enjoy your professional plant installation without the worry of not knowing how to maintain it.

]]>Step 1: Water wisely!
It really helps to let the water sink into the ground slowly to help plants develop strong root systems. When the soil surrounding your tomato plant is moistened 6-8” deep, you have watered correctly and prepared the soil for the next and most important step:
Step 2: Correctly feeding your tomato plants
For maximum yield, feed damp soil with a well-balanced no urea nitrogen tomato plant food. The pre-moistened soil will allow the plant food mixed up in the watering to penetrate the soil and make it to the root system before it is depleted by the otherwise dry thirsty dirt. So allow a hose to slowly deliver water around the plant base before you add the fertilized water from a watering can.
See your tomatoes thrive by selecting the optimal fertilizer nutrient balance:
The three numbers on every fertilizer label show the relative percentage of the required nutrients the plant needs in harmony and regular watering.
Nitrogen
Nitrogen encourages leaf growth, which is why fertilizers with higher ratio of nitrogen (the first of the three numbers) are an optimum choice for lawns and grasses. But in tomatoes, excess leaf growth discourages blossoms and fruit.
A complete fertilizer with a balanced supply of the three major nutrients, such as 3-3-3 or 4-1-3, is a better choice for tomato plants at initial planting time. Stay away from high-nitrogen fertilizers such as urea, ammonium sulfate or fresh manure, which will help produce dark green, tall tomato plants but fewer tomatoes.
Phosphorus
Phosphorus (the second number in the N-P-K ratio) builds strong buds and flowers which of course make big yummy tomato’s
Potassium
Is very important because it allows the flowers to fully develop into the fruit we are going to harvest and builds strong leaf and stem cells that help the plant resist disease and breakage.
Liquid tomato plant foods are by far the best choice as they are quickly taken in by the plants root system and provide a faster benefit to the plant. There is no better way to deliver the very best Tomato plant food then the AquaVor Easy Feeding Can and its attached mild balanced plant food formulas. This system makes it so easy to feed with no mixing, measuring or contact and takes all the guess work out of correctly feeding your tomato’s or anything else you want the grow with outstanding results!
Enjoy!
]]>This can be done with tablets, pills, powders, granules and concentrated liquid formulas.
There are both synthetic and organic types of Bonsai Food.
It is our opinion and that of many leading Bonsai experts that a Low NPK complete and balanced liquid is by far the most effective way to grow and maintain healthy Bonsai.
What does Low NPK mean?
All fertilizers have three numbers printed on the package. These numbers refer to the three primary nutrients that plants need in the greatest quantity.
These elements are part of the macro-nutrients — nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). Numbers such as 20-20-20 or 7- 9-5 indicate the total percentages of N-P-K (in that order).
• Nitrogen (the first number) N is important for the vegetative growth of plants. Leaf yellowing is often a sign of lack of nitrogen. Too much nitrogen can slow down the manufacture of fruit and flowers.
• Phosphorus (second number) P is critical for roots, fruit and flowers. A blooming plant usually responds to extra phosphorus by displaying more flowers.
• Potassium (third number) K makes the structure of the plant strong. This increases resistance to stress and disease. (Potassium is also known as potash.)
How to choose the best Bonsai Food?
Because your Bonsai Tree is delicate and growing in a small amount of soil, it is very important to feed it consistently and correctly for maximum health and beauty. We believe liquid Bonsai Food is by far the best choice because it is easy to control the amount and delivery to the plant. Liquid Bonsai Food is taken up by the plant quickly for a fast response and breaks down more completely so to avoid salt build up that is often associated with common granular Urea based fertilizers.
Even though the three numbers on the package will give a good idea of what the Bonsai Food contains, it is often the Micro Nutrients that are the key to getting the Macro Nutrients to have the desired effect. Elements like copper, Zink and Magnesium are essential in breaking down the Nitrogen so the plant can benefit from it. These micro nutrients help to keep salts from building up in the soil because they break them down quickly. Much like the acid in our stomach converts the food we eat into the nutrition our bodies need, the micro nutrients convert the primary Macro nutrients into the useable nutrition your Bonsai needs to stay healthy for years and years.
The formulas created for the AquaVor Feeding System are responsible for countless awards in the Bonsia growing circles because they contain all the Macro and Micro nutrients needed in a low NPK formula suitable for use every time you water. ]]>This is why the type of hydroponic plant food we use is so important if we want to reap the many benefits Hydroponic growing can deliver. When fed correctly, hydroponically grown plants, herbs and vegetables will grow faster and to belter quality then plants traditionally grown in soils. With Hydroponic systems things like bugs, many diseases and drying out will not occur. It is very sustainable and environmentally sound compared to traditional growing in both small gardens and large commercial growing operations.
Hydroponic plant food must be mild and complete for the balanced nutrition plants needs on regular basis.
By “complete” we mean the right amounts of BOTH Macronutrients and Micronutrients. This is so important because without the complete attendance of ALL 16 Micro and Macro nutrients plants will simply not thrive to their maximum potential. However if the right Hydroponic plant food is used correctly the results are stunning!
Why are the Micro Nutrients so important?..
Because the Micro Nutrients help break down the Maco Nutrients like nitrogen and potassium quickly so the plant will benefit from them and respond as desired.
It’s no Miracle
Correct feeding is Key to professional results. This is why the AquaVor line of Food and Water Cans and Perfect Plant Foods were developed. Our plant feeding system will allow anyone to correctly feed with the finest Hydroponic plant foods available. ]]>The list of top 3 priorities to saving them are as follows:
1. Are you sure you have enough light in the area that you are having trouble?
A. If you are not sure about the light level then it’s probably too low. Keep light levels at least to a point where you can see a shadow on a white piece of paper. Any less than that and very few if any plants will survive. So adjust accordingly if need be and remember that while a few plant species are regarded as “low light plants”, there is no such thing as a “no” light plant and very few really “low” light plants exist
2. Are you over watering?
This is BY FAR the #1 killer of house plants made even worse when light conditions are too low.
“My Plants are dying!”…so we pour even more water on then with the best of intentions only to finish them off. The solution is very simple. Check moisture level with your finger in the soil to see if it’s wet!. If you can make the soil at the top of the container or ground ball up in your hand then the plant does not need a drink.
With container plants overwatering is especially deadly. Remember, if the soil in a container is wet on top then it is REALLY wet at the bottom. Try gently lifting the growing container to see how heavy it is and listen for standing water at the bottom. If you find water standing in the bottom remove the plant and drain the water. Add some dry soil to help absorb excess and let it use the moisture it has in the soil before watering again!….One good rule is “ when in doubt, dry it out”.
3. Are you correctly feeding your plants?
“My plants are dying!! ”Really? And you can’t remember when if ever you last fed them with a well balanced fertilizer? Remember…All living things require nutrition to be healthy and thrive. If you neglected to correctly nourish yourself your pets or any other living thing, eventually instability, low energy, infestation and disease will be the result. So why would a living plant be any different? Correct Feeding is critically important to your success as a gardener or plant enthusiast.
The main barrier to correct and regular feeding is just plain remembering to do so. If we can just remember to feed our plants and gardens we can avoid a whole host of problems. Because remembering to feed and knowing how to feed plant correctly is at times a challenge, AquaVor has created a simple effective solution. Our line of Food and Water cans take all the guess work and neglect out of the fertilizing process so you can be sure your plants and gardens have the regular nutrition they need to be healthy and beautiful!.

]]>The androecium, or male part, contains the following:
Reproduction in flowering plants occurs through the process of pollination, when male gametes are transferred to female ovules. With this information in hand, you will be able to find plants that you want to add to your garden that can help you create a beautiful landscape around your home and yard.
]]>Lettuce
Lettuce is the easiest of veggies to grow. It flourishes in mild temperatures in the spring and fall. It does well among other plants and flowers in a garden, as well as on it’s own in a pot. Although lettuce will do best in the direct sunlight a little shade here and there shouldn’t be a problem, which makes them great indoor or patio plants.
Cucumbers
Though cucumbers grow best in warmer climates, there’s no need to wait until summer to start growing these sweet, crunchy veggies. They can be started in pots and then transferred outside once the winter frost outside melts away. Keep in mind that cucumber plants are sensitive to harsh chemicals and pesticides, so be sure to use organic fertilizer.
Radishes
Radishes are some of the fastest and easiest veggies to grow, making them a favorite among both seasoned and newbie gardeners. Though they can flourish during chillier months in the spring and fall, they still need lots of sunlight, so be sure to plant them in a bright part of your garden. Give these guys a few weeks of regular sunlight and nutritious fertilizer and you will be amazed with the results!
Zucchini
Growing zucchini is easy and fun, especially because these plants produce such large amounts of squash in relatively little time. These guys grow best about two to three weeks after the last winter frost has passed. Be sure to give them lots of sunlight and at least two inches of water per week.
Chives
Chives, a member of the onion family, are not only a delicious addition to soups, salads and baked potatoes, they also grow beautiful purple flowers! These herbs grow in many climates and are resistant to cool weather. Keep in mind that this plant will take over your garden as the flowers will scatter their seeds when they ripen, so these herbs are best kept separate in their own pots. Be sure to keep these guys in full sun and be sure to feed and water them consistently throughout the season.
Basil
It is no mystery why basil is popular in cuisines all over the world – this sweet leaf makes a great addition to a variety of soups, salads, and pastas. Much like lettuce, you don’t even need a full garden to grow this delicious herb! All you need is a small planter, some fresh soil, water, and of course, the right plant food! Basil needs just a little bit of direct sunlight everyday, so be sure to put it next to a window if you are growing it inside.
The most important thing to remember when you are growing your own veggies is to keep them happy by regularly fertilizing. How can you expect them to feed you if you aren’t feeding them?! With the Aquavor Easy Feeding Can, nourishing your produce has never been easier or more convenient.
